Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Payments Systems to architect, develop, and manage scalable, secure, and compliant payment solutions. This role demands hands-on experience with modern payment technologies, real-time transaction systems, and a deep understanding of payment protocols and financial regulations. You will lead initiatives that power digital payments, embedded finance, and fintech integrations across our ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architecture & Development:

  • Design and implement scalable, event-driven microservices for real-time payments and transaction orchestration

  • Develop APIs and backend services for account validation, smart routing, and exception handling.

  • Ensure alignment with cloud-native architecture using containers, orchestration tools, and distributed data streaming

  • Payment Systems Expertise:

  • Lead integration and optimization of payment gateways, clearing houses, and settlement platforms

  • Work with protocols like ISO 20022, RTP, and SWIFT, ensuring secure and compliant transaction flows
  • Security & Compliance:
  • Implement robust security measures including encryption, authentication, and fraud detection
  • Ensure systems meet regulatory standards such as PCI-DSS, AML, and data privacy laws
  • Innovation & Modernization:
  • Drive modernization initiatives using DevOps, AI/ML, and cloud-native technologies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative payment products and services.
  • Leadership & Collaboration:
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders across business, product, and technology teams

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Strong experience with Scala, Java, Go, or Python in backend development.
  • Familiarity with Akka Cluster, Kafka, Cassandra, Redis, and Elasticsearch.
  • Hands-on experience with CQRS, Event Sourcing, and API-first design.
  • Domain Expertise:
  • Deep understanding of payment systems architecture, including payment hubs, gateways, and schemes
  • Experience in building high-throughput, fault-tolerant systems for financial transactions
  • Soft Skills:
  • Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving in high-pressure environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Certifications in payment systems, cloud architecture, or financial compliance are a plus.
