Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team and support the financial operations of our immigration services organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and a deep understanding of financial practices within the immigration industry. The role involves managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations specific to immigration services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and bank statements, specific to immigration-related transactions.
- Ensure all financial transactions are recorded in compliance with legal requirements and immigration-specific financial guidelines.
- Budgeting & Financial Planning:
- Assist in the development of annual budgets for immigration programs and services.
- Monitor and analyze monthly budget performance, identifying discrepancies and providing recommendations for corrective action.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Process invoices and payments to vendors and service providers within the immigration sector.
- Ensure timely collection of fees from clients for immigration-related services, processing refunds when necessary.
- Compliance & Reporting:
- Prepare and file financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, while ensuring compliance with immigration laws and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of tax returns and other financial documents required by government bodies.
- Immigration-Specific Financial Analysis:
- Perform cost analysis related to immigration programs and services, tracking expenditures related to visa processing, legal fees, and other immigration-related activities.
- Analyze financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies in immigration processes.
- Internal Controls & Audit Preparation:
- Support internal audits and ensure that proper internal controls are in place to safeguard financial assets.
- Collaborate with auditors during external audits and provide necessary financial documentation related to immigration transactions.
- Immigration System Integration:
- Collaborate with the immigration team to ensure smooth financial transactions across the immigration software/system.
- Implement improvements in financial workflows to better support the immigration service department.
