Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position for a PostgreSQL Administrator located in Chennai. In this role, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing PostgreSQL databases to ensure their reliability and performance. Day-to-day tasks include database backups, monitoring system performance, handling database troubleshooting, tuning, and security procedures. You will also assist in planning and executing database upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.

Qualifications

  • 4 - 12 years of total experience in Database Administration with Proficiency in PostgreSQL
  • Proficiency in PostgreSQL database administration, performance tuning, and optimization
  • Expertise in database backups, high availability, disaster recovery, and replication
  • Knowledge of database monitoring tools and SQL query optimization
  • Experience with Linux or UNIX operating systems for database management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
  • Familiarity with database security processes and data privacy regulations
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications in PostgreSQL or database administration are a plus
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, on-site environment
