Senior Database Administrator (DBA) Overview

Seeking a seasoned DBA with 5+ years experience across MSSQL, PostgreSQL, and MySQL to administer, maintain, and optimize diverse database systems in a cloud environment. Focus on security, high availability, and automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Database Management: Full lifecycle administration and architecture maintenance for MSSQL, PostgresDB, and MySQL.
  • Performance & Security: Analyze performance, provide optimization suggestions, and establish robust security measures.
  • Cloud & Cache: Experience with cloud-based hosting (GCP preferred), including managing Redis and Memcached.
  • HA/DR: Implement and manage Disaster Recovery solutions, backup solutions, and replication-based load balancing.
  • Automation: Configure automated installations using Ansible and write PowerShell scripts for MSSQL.
  • Monitoring: Implement and maintain effective monitoring solutions and critical parameter alerting.
  • Migrations: Execute heterogeneous database migrations.
  • Support: Provide rotational shift coverage, including night shift participation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years managing core database engines (MSSQL, Postgres, MySQL).
  • Strong knowledge of DBA architecture, best practices, and security.
  • Experience with cloud environments and in-memory databases.
  • Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell) and configuration management (Ansible).
  • Basic Linux navigation skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
