Curious about the role? What your typical day would look like?
We are seeking a highly experienced and domain-focused Data Scientist specializing in network design and graph-based modeling. The ideal candidate will have expertise in applying graph theory and optimization techniques and experience of using NetworkX to solve large-scale supply chain, logistics, or network problems, a proven ability to leverage PySpark on Azure/Databricks for scalable solutions, and a track record of delivering measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Domain Leadership & Modeling: Design and implement network optimization models for distribution, supply chain, or connectivity planning. Apply graph theory algorithms to real-world datasets.
• Big Data & Cloud Implementation: Utilize PySpark to process, clean, and engineer features from massive, distributed datasets.
• Databricks: Experience developing and executing data science notebooks and ML pipelines on Databricks, ensuring optimized performance and cost efficiency.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineering, business intelligence, and business leaders, to understand requirements and ensure solutions align with business goals.
• MLOps & Production: Establish and maintain robust MLOps practices, including model versioning, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and monitoring of production models deployed in the cloud environment.
• Data Analysis & Storytelling: Leverage graph databases and visualization tools for analysis and insights.

Qualifications
Experience:
3+ years of professional experience in a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer role.

Domain Expertise:
Mandatory 3+ years of experience working specifically within the Supply Chain industry.

Technical Stack

• Proficiency in Python and its data science ecosystem (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/ PyTorch).
• Advanced proficiency in PySpark for large-scale data processing and machine learning model development.
• Experience with Azure cloud services relevant to data science (e.g., Azure ML, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse).
• Expertise working with Databricks (Delta Lake, MLflow) for model training, tracking, and deployment.
• Strong SQL skills for data querying and manipulation.

Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering).

Skills

• Hands-on experience in network design and/or graph theory projects.
• Strong understanding of graph algorithms, combinatorial optimization, and network flows.
• Experience with NetworkX
• Familiarity with supply chain network design tools (e.g., Llamasoft, AnyLogistix) is a plus.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
