Role Overview

This is ON CONTRACT and OFF Role Position.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Support Engineer to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production system issues, ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of business-critical applications. The role requires close collaboration with Development, QA, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams to maintain smooth operations and minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor production systems using alerting tools (e.g., ProdMon, Azure Monitor, New Relic, etc.)
  • Respond promptly to incidents, ensuring timely resolution or escalation.
  • Maintain SLAs for incident acknowledgment (MTTA) and resolution (MTTR).
  • Perform initial triage, log analysis, and root cause identification.
  • Work with development and infrastructure teams to resolve issues.
  • Prevent false-positive alerts by fine-tuning monitoring scripts.
  • Keep relevant stakeholders informed during outages or critical incidents.
  • Document incident reports, fixes, and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with Dev, QA, and Release Managers for production changes.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements to reduce incident recurrence.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 0–1 year in a Production Support / Application Support role.
  • Strong knowledge of production monitoring and alerting tools.
  • Familiarity with SQL (read queries), APIs, and debugging techniques.
  • Understanding of release processes, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (Azure).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
