Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager Ocean Freight to support and optimize ocean freight operations for a leading freight forwarding company. You will assist in managing day-to-day operations, customer service, documentation, and team coordination for ocean shipments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations Coordination: Monitor and coordinate FCL, LCL, and breakbulk shipments to ensure smooth execution.

  • Customer Service: Handle customer queries, provide shipment updates, and ensure high satisfaction.

  • Documentation: Ensure accuracy and compliance of all shipping documents (BL, DO, COO, etc.).

  • Team Support: Guide and mentor a team of operations executives and customer service staff.

  • Carrier Coordination: Liaise with shipping lines, agents, and vendors for cargo movement and issue resolution.

  • Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on shipment status, delays, and performance metrics.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.

  • 3–6 years of experience in ocean freight operations in a freight forwarding company.

  • Strong understanding of EXIM regulations, Incoterms, and shipping terms.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills (English, Hindi).
