Introduction to the Team
Expedia Technology teams partner with our Product teams to create innovative products, services, and tools to deliver high-quality experiences for travelers, partners, and our employees. A singular technology platform powered by data and machine learning provides secure, differentiated, and personalized experiences that drive loyalty and traveler satisfaction.

As a TPM II on the Trip Companion team, you'll help shape the future of travel by driving critical initiatives that reduce friction and elevate the traveler experience. Our mission is to maximize the joy of travel by reducing the burdens of arranging the perfect trip and ensuring that travelers feel supported throughout their journey.. This role will focus on leading efforts across Virtual Agent Control and Expedia's Conversation Platform, which powers intelligent, conversational experiences across voice, chat, email, and social channels for travelers, partners, and suppliers.

In this role, you will:

  • Independently drive execution of technical projects within or across a small set of teams.

  • Apply knowledge of the software development lifecycle and program management and engineering practices that can be used (eg. in planning, requirements analysis, design, coding, unit testing, acceptance testing)

  • Track project schedules, maintain documentation, and manage risk mitigation plans.

  • Communicate progress and changes to stakeholders and ensure alignment with project goals.

  • Apply systems thinking to execute holistic solutions that connect people, process, and technology.

  • Identify and implement process improvements using established tools and techniques

  • Support and facilitate conversations around the product development lifecycle with cross-functional teams.

  • Build stakeholder trust and help them explore broader business challenges.

  • Create clear, concise communication materials tailored to different audiences.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of functional and technical information (e.g. user flows, technical system design and workflows).

  • Clearly and confidently articulates decision-making rationale, solutions, methodologies and frameworks to team members and both technical and non-technical partners.

Experience and Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience.

  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience as a Technical Program Manager.

  • Experience leading technical projects and facilitating Agile ceremonies independently.

  • Proven ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in technology with functional knowledge of concepts like user flows and system design.

  • Experience identifying process inefficiencies and proposing actionable improvements.

  • Familiarity with the full product development lifecycle and coordinating across multiple teams.

  • Ability to create structured documentation and clearly present technical concepts to diverse audiences.

  • PMP, SAFe, or a similar project management certification.
