We are currently seeking a Senior GCP Developer to design, build, and optimize enterprise-grade solutions leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP), NoSQL databases, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. The ideal candidate will play a key role in implementing cloud infrastructure, developing scalable data services, and ensuring operational excellence through automation.

Position Overview

The Senior GCP Developer will be responsible for developing, deploying, and managing cloud-native applications and infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform. The candidate must have strong hands-on experience in NoSQL technologies (e.g., Firestore, MongoDB, Bigtable, or Cassandra) and IaC tools (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager).

The ideal candidate will collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, and cross-functional development teams to build secure, reliable, and high-performance solutions while adhering to best practices for scalability, automation, and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cloud Architecture & Development

• Design, develop, and deploy GCP-based cloud-native applications and services using Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine (GKE), and Cloud Run.
• Build scalable data pipelines and integrations leveraging GCP services such as Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Dataflow, and BigQuery.
• Implement cloud-native APIs, microservices, and serverless functions for enterprise-grade applications.
• Ensure systems are designed for high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance.

2. Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Implement and manage GCP infrastructure using Terraform, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, or Pulumi.
• Design modular, reusable IaC templates for provisioning compute, storage, networking, and data services.
• Automate cloud resource deployment, configuration, and scaling using IaC principles.
• Integrate IaC with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD).

3. NoSQL Database Management

• Design and manage scalable data models in NoSQL databases such as Firestore, Bigtable, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Optimize NoSQL query performance and indexing strategies for high-traffic applications.
• Integrate NoSQL data layers with GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Dataflow.
• Manage database provisioning, backup, and disaster recovery using IaC and GCP automation tools.

4. Cloud Security & Compliance

• Implement Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies, service accounts, and roles for secure access control.
• Apply VPC, firewall, and encryption best practices to protect data in transit and at rest.
• Ensure systems comply with relevant regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, SOC2, GDPR) if applicable.
• Collaborate with InfoSec teams to conduct vulnerability scans, threat analysis, and compliance reviews.

5. Monitoring, Optimization & Maintenance

• Implement GCP Monitoring, Logging, and Alerting using Stackdriver and Cloud Monitoring.
• Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost optimization for GCP workloads.
• Manage environment configurations, version control, and release automation in alignment with DevOps standards.

6. Collaboration & Leadership

• Work closely with cloud architects, developers, and DevOps teams to deliver scalable cloud solutions.
• Provide technical mentorship and code reviews to junior developers.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and retrospective sessions.
• Document architectural patterns, deployment strategies, and operational procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Expertise

• 7+ years of total IT experience with a minimum 3+ years in GCP development and deployment.

• Strong hands-on experience with:

• Compute Services: Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Run

• Storage & Databases: Firestore, Bigtable, Cloud SQL, MongoDB, BigQuery
• Messaging & Streaming: Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Functions
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, Pulumi
• Networking: VPC, Subnets, Load Balancing, Peering, Private Service Connect
• Security: IAM, Service Accounts, OAuth2, Secrets Manager, KMS

• Monitoring & Logging: Stackdriver, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging

• Proficient in Python, Java, or Go for backend development and automation scripting.

• Expertise in RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and containerization using Docker/Kubernetes.

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and build automation tools.

Preferred Skills

• Experience integrating with multi-cloud environments (Azure/AWS).
• Familiarity with SQL and relational database optimization.
• Exposure to DataOps and ML pipeline orchestration (Vertex AI, AI Platform).
• Experience in healthcare or the BFSI domain is an added advantage.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.

• Terraform Associate Certification (HashiCorp) is a plus.
