What you become a part of:
The incumbent will take on a techno-functional role, supporting the design and development of reports and customizations in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This role involves close collaboration with business teams across Africa, India, China, and the UAE to gather and understand requirements, develop and implement customizations, manage integrations with third-party systems, provide user training, and support system rollouts.
What to expect:
- Functional Responsibilities:
- Conduct requirement gathering, gap analysis, and solution design for retail and ERP processes.
- Design and configure solutions for Retail, POS, Inventory, Supply Chain, Finance, and reporting modules.
- Provide ongoing support for Business Central and LS Central environments, including issue resolution and process optimization.
- Prepare functional documentation, test cases, and training material for end users.
- Collaborate with business teams to ensure seamless integration with third-party systems (e-commerce platforms, bar code scanning systems, sales force systems, SAP, etc.).
Stay updated with the latest Microsoft Dynamics and LS Retail features and best practices.
Technical Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to end users and IT teams for effective use of the ERP.
- Customize Business Central and LS Central using AL, C/AL, and extensions.
- Develop and maintain reports, interfaces, workflows, and integrations.
- Ensure system performance tuning, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
- Oversee data migration strategies (from legacy systems to Business Central/LS Central).
Implement best practices in coding, security, and change management.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with IT, Business and Analytics teams to identify and implement system and process improvements.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance business operations and performance.
Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration.
Travel:
- Occasional travel to various locations across Africa for implementation, rollouts and provide on-site support as needed to drive adoption of the IT systems.
- Coordinate with local teams to ensure seamless support across different geographies.
Essential qualifications & experience:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in Microsoft Dynamics NAV/ Business Central, with at least 5 years in LS Central.
Desired skills & attributes:
- Proven track record in multiple end-to-end ERP implementations (retail sector preferred).
- Microsoft Dynamics certifications (Business Central / LS Retail) preferred.
- Strong understanding of retail processes, POS systems, and ERP workflows.
- Proficiency in AL language, Visual Studio Code, and Business Central development environment.
- Experience with extensions (v2), APIs, and integrations with third-party systems.
- Solid knowledge of SQL Server, Power BI, and reporting tools.
- Experience with Azure services, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) will be desirable.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is desirable.
- Ability to manage full project lifecycle including scoping, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in English, familiarity with French/ Portuguese will be an added advantage.
