Job Title: Nutanix Engineer

Location: Gurgaon, India

Work Schedule: Full-time, on-site at the office during US business hours (typically 9 AM - 5 PM EST, which translates to evening/night shifts in IST). Candidates must be comfortable with shift work to align with US time zones.

Job Summary

As a Nutanix Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing Nutanix-based hyperconverged infrastructure solutions, with a strong emphasis on integration with Cisco UCS platforms. You will play a key role in ensuring reliable end-user computing environments, troubleshooting complex issues, and optimizing system performance. This role requires a deep understanding of infrastructure principles and hands-on experience in deploying solutions that enhance user productivity and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain Nutanix clusters, including AHV hypervisor management, storage configuration, and network optimization.
  • Deploy and integrate Nutanix solutions on Cisco UCS hardware, ensuring compatibility, high availability, and scalability.
  • Manage end-user computing environments, including virtual desktops, applications, and user access controls.
  • Perform system upgrades, patches, and migrations while minimizing downtime and ensuring data integrity.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure issues related to compute, storage, and networking in Nutanix environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess requirements, conduct performance tuning, and implement best practices for security and compliance.
  • Monitor system health using Nutanix Prism and other tools, generating reports and recommendations for improvements.
  • Provide on-call support during US business hours and participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Nutanix Engineer, with proven expertise in Nutanix HCI (Hyperconverged Infrastructure) deployment and management.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure fundamentals, including virtualization, storage (SDS), networking, and data center operations, Rubrik.
  • Experience deploying Nutanix solutions on Cisco UCS platforms, including blade servers, rack servers, and fabric interconnects.
  • Proficiency in end-user computing (EUC) concepts, such as VDI, application virtualization, and user profile management.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for infrastructure tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Gurgaon during US business hours.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Citrix-based VDI solutions (e.g., Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops) is a significant advantage.
  • Certifications such as Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP), Cisco CCNA/CCNP Data Center, or VMware VCP.
  • Knowledge of cloud integration (e.g., Nutanix with AWS/Azure) or hybrid environments.
  • Prior experience in supporting global clients with time-zone alignment.
