Primary Title: Patient Care Companion

About The Opportunity
We are hiring in the healthcare services sector, focused on patient transportation and in-home companion care for hospital visits. This role supports clinical teams by ensuring safe, dignified, and timely patient transfers to and from hospitals and clinics in Horamavu, Karnataka (Bengaluru).

On-site, full-time position requiring reliable local availability and a compassionate, safety-first approach to patient support.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Accompany patients to and from hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic centres—ensuring timely arrivals and safe returns home.
  • Assist with patient mobility: transfer between bed, wheelchair, stretcher and vehicle using safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.
  • Monitor basic vital signs and patient comfort during transit; escalate any urgent clinical changes to medical staff or family members immediately.
  • Coordinate logistics with hospital reception and wards—manage appointments, queue navigation, and simple paperwork support as required.
  • Maintain infection-control standards during transfers (masking, sanitisation) and ensure patient privacy and dignity throughout the journey.
  • Keep accurate trip records, handover notes, and communicate follow-up needs to family members and clinical teams after each visit.

Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have

  • Prior experience as a patient companion, caregiver, medical escort, or attendant for hospital transfers.
  • Ability to perform safe patient transfers and wheelchair handling.
  • Certification or competency in First Aid and CPR/BLS.
  • Basic ability to monitor and record vital signs (pulse, blood pressure, temperature).
  • Local knowledge of Horamavu and surrounding Bengaluru routes; reliable punctuality and time management.
  • Clear police background check and willingness to undergo pre-employment verification and health screening (vaccinations).

Preferred

  • Experience with geriatric care assistance or chronic-condition patient escorting.
  • Familiarity with infection control protocols in outpatient/hospital settings.
  • Valid driving licence and experience coordinating patient transport (if assigned to vehicle-based transfers).
