Job Description

As a Scrum Master, your role typically involves programming and leading a set of team members. You would be responsible for the commitments of your team in terms of time, effort and quality of work. You would also be responsible for their performance evaluation. You would likely be a part of a larger offshore team and are expected to work collaboratively with your peers onsite and offshore to deliver milestone/sprint-based deliverables. This role predominantly is a technology leadership role and hence it is essential that you exhibit deep technical knowledge and the empathy towards your subordinates.

Typical activities that would be expected are

  • Program and deliver as per the scope provided by the delivery leads/onsite managers.
  • Actively participate in the discussions/scrum meetings to comprehend and understand your scope of work and deliver as per your estimates/commitments
  • Proactively reach out to others when you need assistance and to showcase your work
  • Work independently on your assigned work
  • Manage a set of team member in understanding their estimates, monitoring their quality of work and ensuring as a team you meet the project deadlines
  • Actively guide the team members and up skill them
    Assign KRAs, monitor and evaluate team members job performance.
Requirements

As a Scrum Master, you will act as an enabler for the effective functioning of a software development team using Agile methodologies. Your typical day will involve coaching and mentoring the Scrum Team, facilitating various Agile ceremonies, and ensuring that the team remains focused on their tasks. You will work closely with team members to identify and remove any barriers that may hinder their progress, while also tracking and reporting on the team's performance through appropriate metrics. Your role is crucial in fostering a collaborative environment that promotes continuous improvement and successful project delivery.

  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and reviews.
  • Work with Product Owners to ensure features and user stories are clear, concise, prioritized, and understood by every member of the Agile team
  • Coach teams on Agile and SAFe practices.
  • Work closely with the Modularity Release Train Engineer to align sprint goals across the scrum teams.
  • Establish and maintain open and clear lines of team communication to facilitate status transparency Work with peer Scrum Masters, Release Train Engineers, and Agile Coaches to increase the effectiveness of Scaled Agile.
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence.
  • Maintain agile metrics, reporting, and documentation in tools like JIRA and Confluence.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
