We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of  Associate Director, Software Engineering 

In this role, you will:
.
•    Drive the standardization of monitoring processes across tier 0 services using tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, and OpenTelemetry (otel).

•    Adoption and integration of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices to enhance system performance and stability.

•    Assist in develop and implementing strategies for automation within production engineering to improve operational efficiency and reliability.

•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of monitoring and automation solutions.

•    Analyse system performance metrics and implement improvements to optimize service delivery and reduce downtime.

•    Mentor junior team members and provide training on best practices in monitoring, automation, and SRE methodologies.

•    Lead incident response efforts, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on service delivery.

•    Evaluate new tools and technologies for potential integration into the existing monitoring and automation framework.

•    Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on system performance, incidents, and ongoing projects.

•    Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying areas for enhancement and driving initiatives to achieve operational excellence.
 

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

•    Monitoring Tools: Proficiency in using monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, and OpenTelemetry (otel) is essential.

•    Automation Technologies: Experience with automation frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting) to develop and implement automation solutions.

•    Proficiency in developing solutions using Ansible and Jenkins

•    Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their monitoring and automation capabilities.

•    Excellent oral and written communication.

•    Knowledge in API, REST, SOAP, Java Message Service, JNDI data sources, UNIX/LINUX, Oracle, Websphere, MQ and SQL script writing.

•    Ability to problem solve, dive deep to address issues, drive performance diagnosis and/or lead debugging and troubleshooting activities.

•    Experience of high frequency change, specifically adoption, engineering and execution of automated CICD pipelines.

•    Industry Payments knowledge is a plus.
 
What additional skills will be good to have?

•    Knowledge of ITIL processes

•    Open to working in UK/US shift, weekends and to be on-call support after office hours on need basis (Rotational)
