With the launch of Y-Not Swag Store, our new eCommerce platform for branded swag and promotional items, we are expanding our marketing team in Bangalore to strengthen data, analytics, and process foundations.

Position Overview

We are looking for a smart and proactive Sourcing Intern to join our USA Sourcing Team at Y-Not Design & Mfg. The ideal candidate will have a background in Mechanical or Industrial Production Engineering, or an MBA in Supply Chain, Operations, or International Business, combined with strong communication skills and analytical thinking.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to global sourcing and supply chain operations — working directly with our U.S. suppliers, sourcing leads, and operations teams. You'll play a critical role in identifying suppliers, conducting cost analysis, maintaining sourcing databases, and supporting our international procurement projects.

This is a full-time, in-office internship based in Bangalore, aligned to U.S. business hours (5:00 PM – 2:00 AM IST, Monday–Friday).

Key Responsibilities

• Research, identify, and engage with new and existing suppliers and manufacturers for U.S. sourcing projects.
• Communicate directly with U.S. suppliers and sourcing partners to collect quotes, negotiate pricing, and clarify product specifications.
• Perform detailed cost and spend analysis, comparing supplier quotations and ensuring pricing competitiveness.
• Support supplier evaluation and scoring, helping build a reliable supplier management system.
• Assist in maintaining and updating the supplier database, ensuring accuracy, categorization, and performance data tracking.
• Participate in weekly sourcing and operations calls to review project status and supplier performance.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including procurement, logistics, and operations for project coordination.
• Support sourcing KPIs tracking and report generation related to supplier performance, onboarding, and sourcing project timelines.
• Learn and apply basic concepts of Incoterms, customs documentation, and DDP/DAP shipping processes.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Production Engineering, or MBA in Supply Chain, Operations, or International Business.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (must be fluent).
• Strong analytical and numerical skills for cost analysis and supplier comparison.
• Attention to detail, structured documentation, and organizational ability.
• Strong time management skills to work across U.S. time zones and handle multiple sourcing projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data comparison).
• Basic understanding of supply chain, procurement, and logistics concepts.
• Eagerness to learn international procurement processes and supplier negotiation techniques.
