Strategic Sourcing Category Manager

We are looking for a highly motivated manager for Strategic Sourcing Category Manager for the Cement Business of FLSmidth. Working with the Product Line Managers (PLM) and Engineering, this position will be tasked to drive fully landed delivery cost, lower inventory, and decrease lead times to our internal customers through our supply chain strategy. Maintaining strategic alignment of the regional purchasing and global expediting teams will be critical to ensure correct purchasing mix and part tooling locations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Supplier Management:
  • Drive cost, quality & lead time improvement initiatives and resolve potential supply chain challenges.
  • Analyze, evaluate & develop new and existing suppliers based on spend, global demand planning feedback and set strategies.
  • Lead / create relevant price lists and/or frame agreements with the key strategic suppliers.
  • Act as the supplier relationship manager towards relevant and selected internal and external suppliers.
  • Oversee the supplier performance in terms of cost, lead time, quality & supplier sustainability.
  • Provide regular forecasting to suppliers for their resource planning and growth.
  • Managing global tooling locations and decisions in collaboration with PLM and Engineering
  • Support the development of local product sourcing plans with Regional Order Execution teams to optimize lead times, reduce inventory, and maximize contribution margin.
  • Provide standardized methods to catalogue and analyze regional purchasing mix.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with low-volume products.
  • Strong technical knowledge of cast and machined products.
  • Proven networking, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Proactive, self-driven work ethic and the ambition to take full ownership of responsibilities.
  • Ability to drive solutions and eliminate inefficient processes.
  • Passion for collaboration, innovation and taking on challenges in a dynamic environment.
  • Competitive individual determined to exceed targets.
