Head of Shot Blast

Key Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership & Supervision

• Lead and manage a team of shot blasting operators and technicians.

• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to production schedules.

• Conduct training and skill development sessions for team members.

• Operational Management

• Plan and coordinate daily shot blasting activities to meet production goals.

• Ensure proper setup, operation, and maintenance of shot blasting equipment.

• Optimize blasting parameters for different materials and surface requirements.

• Quality & Compliance

• Monitor surface preparation quality and ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., SSPC, ISO).

• Implement quality control checks and corrective actions when needed.

• Maintain documentation of processes, inspections, and production records.

• Safety & Maintenance

• Enforce safety protocols and ensure use of PPE and safe handling of abrasive materials.

• Schedule preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues.

• Conduct safety audits and risk assessments regularly.

• Process Improvement

• Identify bottlenecks and implement process enhancements for efficiency and cost reduction.

• Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to improve workflow.
• Evaluate new technologies and methods for better surface treatment.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in shot blasting operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of shot blasting techniques, media types, and surface preparation standards.
• Familiarity with automated blasting systems and dust collection units.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in production planning and reporting tools.
