Job Description Project Engineer

Project Engineer with CAD/CAE/PLM/PDM-Tech Specialist having proven skillsets with brainstorming, problem solving and change management (including ERCN/ECR process management). In addition to being of engineering background, this person must be hands-on and will need to possess a superior level of verbal and written communication, and good leadership abilities.

Role & Skills:

• Works closely with Engineering Systems Technical Support (ESTS), Engineering Supervisors, Managers, to ensure execution of Engineering Infrastructure Systems capabilities, and technology

• Develops requirements for the implementation of tool enhancements including Design, Development, Testing, Training.

• Supports customer services status report and status dashboard for engineering services issues and enhancements requests

• Working with regional super users, provides support for CAD-CAE users, interfacing with ESTS

• Authors CAD-CAE documentation pertaining to system design, configuration, process management, best practices, and training

• Stays appraised of developments in CAD-CAE technology and industry; identifies opportunities for customer appropriate implementation

• Leads or assists efforts to improve processes, design/develop workflows and/or internal standards for Engineering processes

• Plans, with cross-functional teams, the migration of Engineering data from old systems to new

• Develop and optimize new or updated engineering processes for global consistency

• Identify, define and communicate the benefits and outcomes of improved and new processes

• Lead the user preparation and participation in requirements-gathering workshops including processes, journey maps, surveys, decision criteria, and end user requirements

• Conduct audits, generate reports of findings and manage appropriate engineering dashboards to monitor compliance with customer Global Engineering Standards

• Audit the adherence to customer standards of structured processes necessary for the successful design, development, testing and deployment of systems

• Be a Change Agent, working with diversified cross-functional and cross-cultural teams in support of the overall Engineering Infrastructure Systems vision.

• Conduct change analyses and measure for propensity to change and work through the Layers of Resistance to Change Model to secure buy-in.

• Ensures organization is well informed, at all times, of changes to process flows, enhancements, rollouts, etc.,

• Produces information that supports good communication and training,

• Supports and solicits input from team members at all levels of the organization,

• Ensures superior solution delivery and provides resolution to problems,

• Reinforces team approach, both on organizational projects and internal initiatives

• Works closely with Engineering Systems Technical Support, Engineering Supervisors, managers and Project Managers

• Has frequent contact with Engineers in all departments

• Supports the engineers and technical staff in various departments who design pipeline inspection tools, isolation, and repair, and/or integrity assessment systems to meet new, unique, and formerly unaddressed gathering and transmission customer needs.
• Pipeline service industry, inline tools, and isolation tools
• Pipeline operational experience

Software Experience & Skills:

• Application knowledge and experience specific to various systems for Product Data Management (PDM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Computer Aided Design (CAD), with expert level understanding of Teamcenter, SWIM (SolidWorks integration manager) and Solid Works
• Experience in the pipeline industry and/or standard OEM products.
• Ability to identify critical path items in complex projects
• Superior communication skills (visual, oral, written) and proven ability to influence people at all levels in an organization,
• Strong problem-solving and creative innovation skills with experience questioning status quo and proven experience improving work strategies,
• Possess strong ability to exercise sound judgment in making technical decisions,
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
• Experience with integrating engineering systems

Education Qualification: B.Tech / BE in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 6 years of proven technical project engineering experience, specific to engineering systems requirements gathering, and implementation projects
