Your role

Application Service Transition Lead responsible for oversight, governance and review processes for managing all changes into the Production environment

Responsible for influencing, socializing and championing adherence to standards and putting in place processes and tooling to drive and monitor adherence

Hosting technology change review forums and engagement in architectural review boards to drive early inclusion of support capability requirements on new/large deployments.

Your team

You'll be joining Group Functions team under Application Support & Reliability, playing a crucial role in further driving technology to become a true differentiator for our firm. You will work with an exceptionally talented and diverse group of experienced talent responsible for driving our production stability, cloud strategy and predictive analytics.

Your expertise

Key responsibilities:

• apply a broad range of engineering practices with a focus on reliability, from instrumentation, performance analysis, and log analytics to drive automated deployment and reduce operational risk.
• minimize the risk and impact of failures by engineering operational improvements through deep dive, review and challenge of large/complex changes
• collect and analyze operational data, define and monitor key metrics to identify and communicate areas for improvement
• ensuring that Ops professionals and product managers are correlating change activity against incidents and documenting the findings to enable future informed decision-making.
• based on post-incident reviews, optimize overall process of delivery, monitoring and controls to boost service reliability.
• ensure the quality, security, reliability, and compliance of our solutions by applying our digital principles and implementing both functional and non-functional requirements
• learn new technologies and practices, reuse strategic platforms and standards, evaluate options, and make decisions with long-term sustainability in mind
• work in an agile way as part of multi-disciplinary teams, participate in agile ceremonies, and collaborate with engineers and product managers.
• understand, represent, and advocate for client needs
• share knowledge and expertise with colleagues, help with hiring, and contribute regularly to our engineering culture and internal communities

Key deliverables:

• drive automation to eliminate TOIL, increase self-serviceable option on Requests and Changes requested.
• baselines for Error Budget and efforts spent on addressing Deployment/Delivery TOIL and Change inflicted outages.
• drive inclusion of enhanced resiliency and ability to withstand against unexpected failures in all deliveries.
• drive continuous improvement through Problem Management & Change Quality reviews

Key competencies

• you have 10+ years technical experience in DevOps , Production support and engineering background. Experience on Azure Cloud platform is an added advantage.
• experience of hosting efficient & effective governance forums with senior IT & Business application stakeholders
• structured methods for tracking complex inter-dependent milestones/deliverables and co-ordinating resource capacity with demand management
• hands-on experience of working on projects aimed at Toil reduction, CI/CD pipeline automation, large scale automations, etc.
• experience with common SRE tools used for Configuration, Alerting, Observability.
• hands-on experience in engineering of the Monitoring solutions using tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk , Azure AppInsights, Azure Monitor
• familiar with Azure Automation, Function or equivalent tools in other Cloud Platforms.
• familiar with Application as a service coding tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, ARM)
• experience with the software development life cycle, CI/CD, GIT, and code build pipelines. Hands-on experience on Gitlab is an added advantage.
• strong communication and collaboration skills
• self-driven, passionate professional with minimal need of supervision.
