The Role

We're looking for a
Developer Advocate Intern
who is passionate about learning, teaching, and building developer communities. This role is open both to beginners who want to grow into developer advocacy and to those with prior experience who want to take their skills to the next level.

As an intern, you'll be a bridge between Aklivity's technology and the developer community. You'll help others learn, experiment, and succeed with our tools while also contributing to content, programs, and community initiatives that grow Aklivity's impact.

This internship is designed as a pathway to full-time opportunities at Aklivity.

What You'll Do

  • Support and engage with the developer community through forums, online spaces, and events.
  • Contribute to educational content such as blogs, videos, and documentation.
  • Drive community engagement for
    Aklivity's open-source project Zilla
    by creating learning resources, demo apps, and examples that make it easier for developers to adopt and succeed with Zilla.
  • Collaborate with the Aklivity team to propose and test new advocacy initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Basic (or "noob level") understanding of the Java ecosystem (JVM, JRE, JDK).
  • Basic understanding of web and network protocols and standards (HTTP, TLS, TCP/IP, DNS, etc.).
  • Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, AMQP, MQTT, JMS).
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for learning, teaching, and supporting developer communities.
  • Self-starter attitude with curiosity and drive to experiment.
  • No degree required.
