Role Overview-

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to manage and scale our Drupal platform hosted on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). This role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, and system monitoring to ensure high availability and performance of Drupal workloads in production.

Key Responsibilities-

  • Manage, monitor, and scale Drupal applications running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions/Jenkins).
  • Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, Helm, or ARM templates.
  • Configure and manage Horizontal Pod Autoscaling (HPA), ingress controllers, and persistent storage for Drupal workloads.
  • Work with development teams to automate deployments and ensure smooth release cycles.
  • Implement and manage logging, monitoring, and alerting (Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
  • Ensure security best practices, including secrets management, SSL, and role-based access control (RBAC).
  • Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks across Drupal, PHP-FPM, Nginx, MySQL/Azure Database, and CDN layers.
  • Optimize cost and resource usage in Azure environments.
  • Support disaster recovery, backup strategies, and scaling events for large traffic spikes.

Required Skills-

  • Strong experience with Drupal hosting and optimization.
  • Deep understanding of Azure cloud services (AKS, Azure Database for MySQL, Azure CDN, Azure Monitor, Storage).
  • Hands-on with Kubernetes: deployments, services, ingress, HPA, config maps, secrets, Helm charts.
  • Expertise in CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar).
  • Proficiency with Linux administration, PHP-FPM, and Nginx/Apache.
  • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or Azure-native monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform/Helm).
  • Strong understanding of scaling strategies for high-traffic applications.
  • CDN configuration (Azure Front Door / Cloudflare / Akamai, whichever is used).
  • Load balancer, DNS, firewall & WAF rules

Good to Have-

  • Familiarity with Drupal application internals (caching, composer, Drush).
  • Experience with service mesh
  • Knowledge of content delivery optimization (CDN, Varnish, Redis).
