The Role

We are seeking a
Project Basis Product Designer
who specializes in
hard materials (metal & wood)
to conceptualize and develop a range of
exclusive tableware and woodenware
products for Oreen.

The role is suited for a
freelance/product designer/industrial designer
with strong expertise in
material exploration, tableware design, and prototyping coordination
.

Responsibilities

  • Concept Development:
    Research global hospitality & dining trends and propose unique design directions for tableware/woodenware.
  • Design Creation:
    Develop sketches, technical drawings, and 3D CAD models for trays, boards, serveware, platters, baskets, bowls, and accessories.
  • Prototyping & Sampling:
    Work with Oreen's sourcing/manufacturing partners to translate concepts into production-ready prototypes.
  • Material & Finish Innovation:
    Explore sustainable woods, hammered metals, coatings, and textures to create distinctive finishes.
  • Documentation:
    Provide detailed product specifications, finish charts, and codes for catalog and production use.

Skills & Experience

  • Degree in
    Product Design/Industrial Design
    (NID, NIFT, MIT Pune, or equivalent preferred).
  • Strong portfolio in
    homeware, tableware, or lifestyle products
    .
  • Proficiency in
    CAD software (AutoCAD, Rhino, SolidWorks, Fusion 360)
    and rendering tools (Keyshot/Blender).
  • Deep understanding of
    wood & metal finishing techniques
    (hammering, polishing, coating, joinery).
  • Experience working with
    craft clusters or factory production
    is a strong plus.
  • Ability to balance
    functionality, durability, and premium aesthetics
    .

Deliverables

  • 1 × Concept & Mood Board
  • 20–30 sketches + CAD drawings
  • 8–12 shortlisted prototypes (production-ready)
  • Material/finish chart for catalog + supplier handover

Engagement Model

  • Type:
    Freelance/Project Basis (3–4 months).
  • Fee:
    Fixed + milestone-based (Concept → Prototype → Final Range).
  • Exclusivity:
    All designs will remain Oreen's exclusive IP.
  • Start:
    Immediate.
