Job Title: Mainframe Developer / Technical Lead

Location: Bangalore Hybrid 4 Days WFO

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Developer / Technical Lead with 610 years of experience to join our team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in COBOL, JCL, DB2, Python, and IBM Mainframe Utilities, along with domain knowledge in Cards & Payments and Asset & Wealth Management.

This is a hybrid position requiring 4 days work from office. The role offers long-term growth opportunities and the chance to work on complex enterprise-level projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and maintenance of mainframe applications using COBOL and IBM Mainframe Utilities.
  • Integrate Python scripts to automate tasks and enhance functionality.
  • Provide technical support and guidance in IT Service Management (ITSM).
  • Design and implement JCL scripts for job scheduling and execution.
  • Manage DB2 database operations, ensuring integrity and availability.
  • Own the full SDLC lifecycle from requirement gathering to installation and warranty support.
  • Analyze business requirements in Cards & Payments and deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Implement best practices in Asset & Wealth Management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for security and reliability.
  • Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system productivity.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for processes and procedures.
  • Participate in code reviews and mentor team members.
  • Stay updated with industry trends to drive innovation.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 6-10 years of hands-on experience in COBOL, DB2, JCL, and IBM Mainframe Utilities.
  • Strong knowledge of Python scripting for automation.
  • Expertise in Cards & Payments and Asset & Wealth Management domains.
  • Proficiency in IT Service Management practices.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.

Certifications (Preferred/Required)

  • IBM Mainframe Certified Specialist
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
