Summary
The role of the Senior Data Scientist is critical to enhancing data-driven decision-making and innovation through advanced analytics and machine learning across both business and R&D functions.

Main Responsibilities

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be responsible for leveraging your expertise to solve complex business challenges through data analytics. Your primary duties include:

  • Design, develop, and deploy machine learning and advanced analytics models to solve complex business problems.
  • Analyze large, structured, and unstructured datasets to extract insights and trends.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product teams, and engineers to define data-driven solutions.
  • Build predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive models using statistical and ML techniques.
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and feature engineering processes.
  • Validate model performance, conduct A/B testing, and ensure model robustness and scalability.
  • Communicate insights and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to best practices, standards, and governance.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends in data science, AI, and analytics.

Key Requirements

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Advanced Analytics.
  • Strong proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and model development.
  • Solid understanding of statistics, probability, and machine learning algorithms.
  • Experience with ML frameworks such as Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn, etc.).
  • Experience deploying models into production environments.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Knowledge of big data technologies (Spark, Databricks, Hadoop).
  • Exposure to MLOps, CI/CD pipelines, and model lifecycle management.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, chemicals, materials science, or industrial domains.
  • PhD or Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields.
