**Position Summary:**

The Lab Assistant supports the science department by preparing and maintaining laboratory equipment and materials, assisting students and teachers during experiments, and ensuring a safe and organized laboratory environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Prepare laboratory materials and equipment for science classes and experiments.

  • Ensure all lab equipment is clean, functioning properly, and stored correctly.

  • Assist teachers in setting up and dismantling laboratory experiments.

  • Supervise students during laboratory activities to promote safety and proper conduct.

  • Maintain safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and request replenishments as needed.

  • Keep the laboratory clean and organized after activities.

  • Provide technical support and guidance to students during experiments.

  • Assist in the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.

  • Document and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to appropriate staff.

**Qualifications:**

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant coursework or experience in science preferred.

Basic understanding of scientific principles and laboratory safety procedures.

Good organizational and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Attention to detail and strong safety awareness.

Working Conditions:**

School laboratory environment.

May require standing for extended periods.

Flexibility to work before, during, and after school hours as needed.
