Job Description

JOB DETAILS / ROLE PURPOSE:

Ensuring all the month end and quarter end activities have been completed in accordance with the process documentation and standard AWP procedures. The activities and responsibilities in the role includes Month / Quarter end activities, Intercompany postings and reconciliations, Balance Sheet reconciliation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support in month/quarter end Closing, preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations including the bank and investment
  • Posting of various month end journals like accruals/deferral related to premium, claim, commission. Posting and reconciliation of deferred taxes. Postings of quarterly FX revaluation.
  • Clearing of open balance sheets items, suspense account clearing
  • Posting of various month end journals like accruals, prepaid/deferral
  • Posting and reconciliation of technical reserves and provision as per requirement
  • SOP documentation, analysing processes & recommending improvements
  • Provide active input into the design and implementation of process improvement initiatives
  • Work within a team structure in achieving key performance indicators and objectives and be highly focused on the achievement of these objectives
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with appropriate internal and external stakeholders
  • Other adhoc tasks and responsibilities as the need arises.
PROFILE KEY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Intermediate or advanced Excel skills
  • Sound accounting knowledge, communication skills
  • Previous experience in Month end Closing & Reporting
  • Insurance experience & SAP is preferable
  • Proactive decision making & actions
  • Ability to undertake initiative and deliver quality results often with competing deadlines
  • Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to support and mentor other team members in the task undertaken
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Power point skills would be an advantage.
