Role Overview

The Projects Operations Manager will lead and oversee the complete operational execution of 
project logistics and heavy-lift cargo movements
, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of turnkey projects. This role demands strong leadership, multi-modal logistics understanding (road, sea, and air), and the ability to coordinate with clients, vendors, site teams, and authorities to ensure seamless execution from planning to delivery.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Planning & Execution

• Plan, execute, and monitor all phases of project logistics operations, including route surveys, lifting, transport, customs clearance, and site delivery.
• Develop detailed project execution plans with milestones, manpower, equipment, and vendor dependencies.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, local regulations, and client-specific SOPs.
• Lead project execution teams and ensure timely delivery against contractual timelines.

Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

• Manage and negotiate with transporters, shipping lines, crane vendors, surveyors, and port authorities.
• Coordinate with internal departments — documentation, finance, pricing, and customer service — for smooth project flow.
• Liaise with clients for progress updates, documentation, and site coordination.

Financial & Commercial Management

• Prepare cost estimates, control budgets, and ensure margin protection on every project.
• Track job profitability and ensure invoicing and collections are timely and accurate.
• Evaluate vendor performance and optimize cost efficiencies across operations.

Team Leadership

• Supervise project engineers, field supervisors, and site coordinators.
• Build operational discipline, training, and on-ground excellence among the project logistics team.
• Conduct debriefs and performance analysis after each project completion.

Technology & Reporting

• Ensure all project milestones and updates are logged in the company's digital systems / tracker apps.
• Generate periodic MIS reports on project performance, cost, utilization, and compliance.
• Drive continuous process improvement through technology adoption and automation.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of 
  heavy-lift transport, ODC movements, and breakbulk operations
  .
• Excellent leadership, coordination, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in project planning tools and logistics documentation.
• Strong problem-solving and crisis-management abilities.
• Familiarity with safety standards, road permits, and international trade regulations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Marine / Civil Engineering or equivalent (MBA preferred).
• Minimum 
  8–12 years
   of experience in 
  Project Logistics / Heavy-Lift Operations / EPC logistics
  .
• Proven experience managing complex multi-modal logistics projects across India and international corridors.
• Valid knowledge of DGFT, customs, and port operations will be an added advantage.
