Lead DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Devops Engineer to join our Risk Intelligence division within the Digital Identity & Fraud (DI&F) Devops team. In this role, you will work closely with multiple development teams to build and support our latest platform offering for Digital Identity flagship products. In addition, you will help key business stakeholders to translate their vision into reality by owning each and all of the following phases: Build, Test, Deploy, Monitor and more. We are expanding our CI/CD Automation suite with a goal to provide a robust level of service to our customers, both internal and external. We build infrastructure that run our products at scale for large financial institutions, and our platform supports that vision.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, problem-solving abilities, and extensive experience with Cloud based platforms. You will be a key player in building, supporting and maintaining scalable microservices-based infrastructure in a fast-paced and agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enable rapid developer onboarding to LSEG developer tools and Platforms
  • Improve Developer Experience by increasing their ability to improve cadence of delivery of new features
  • Unlock Developer Capacity and enable greater Innovation by modernizing tooling and processes
  • Automate everything.
  • Build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, growing own network and collaborating with other teams.
  • Work in an agile environment, contributing to SCRUM and Kanban workflows to meet tight delivery schedules.
  • Build and deploy containerized solutions using Kubernetes and Docker for cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Support development teams and impart Devops patterns/practices.
  • Ensure that all operational responsibilities are performed including monitoring systems and deploying releases.
  • Support development changes, providing accurate estimates for time and capital costs, attending project meetings, and analysing impact for proposed project work and meeting deadlines
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving across the DevOps infrastructure.
  • Suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements.
  • Identifies, prioritises, and executes tasks in the software development life cycle
  • Develops tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
  • Communicates with clarity, precision, and influence, presenting complex information in a concise format that is audience appropriate

Key Technical Skills:

  • Infrastructure as Code - Terraform
  • Kubernetes/Helm – Azure AKS (AWS/GCP equivalent)
  • Docker – Build/Debug/Deploy
  • CI/CD – Gitlab (or Github) pipelines
  • Monitoring – Datadog/Prometheus and others
  • Networking
  • Databases: PostgreSQL/MySQL/CosmosDB/No-SQL
  • Cloud Platforms: Azure, AWS, GCP

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science/Engineering or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise DevOps

Other Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in designing and building Azure/AWS infrastructure. Experience and strong understanding of Azure/AWS concepts
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in provisioning Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform Enterprise or Community edition.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in building CI/CD solutions using Jenkins/Gitlab CI
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Kubernetes and Helm.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Logging, Alerting and Monitoring solutions (ELK/EFK, Prometheus, Grafana, BigPanda, Datadog, etc…)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage dynamic priorities
  • Strong collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders

Nice To Have:

  • Development background (Typescript/C#/Java)
  • Experience in the FinTech industry, especially in financial markets or fraud prevention systems.
  • Experience working with highly distributed, data-intensive systems.
  • Experience with supporting production systems
