is a leading EPC organization engaged in the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, and commissioning of bulk material handling systems, specializing in Ash Handling and Coal Handling projects for the power and process industries.

Role Objective:

The HOD – Electrical will lead the Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineering function for Material Handling Projects. The role demands expertise in design engineering, system integration, and leadership of a multidisciplinary engineering team to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and timely project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering team comprising engineers and draftspersons.
  • Oversee the complete design and engineering of electrical systems for
    Material Handling Projects
    , including
    Ash Handling and Conveyor Systems
    .
  • Responsible for
    design, specification, and selection
    of major electrical equipment such as:
  • HT & LT Switchboards
  • Transformers
  • Cables and Cable Routing
  • Motors and Drives
  • UPS Systems and PLC Panels
  • Instrumentation and Control Systems
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, layouts, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct
    technical evaluation and scrutiny
    of vendor offers and equipment specifications.
  • Provide
    technical guidance and support
    during project execution, erection, and commissioning stages.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet
    project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional departments including Mechanical, Civil, and Projects for seamless integration.
  • Stay updated with relevant
    industry standards, codes, and practices
    for electrical design and safety.
  • Mentor, train, and develop engineering team members for skill enhancement and succession planning.

Functional Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong expertise in
    Design & Engineering of Electrical Systems
    for large-scale Material Handling Projects.
  • Proficiency in design and selection of:
  • HT/LT Switchboards
  • Transformers
  • Cables and Motors
  • Instrumentation and PLC systems
  • UPS and Control Systems
  • Sound knowledge of
    Electrical Standards (IS, IEC, IEEE)
    and
    Safety Regulations.
  • Hands-on experience in
    technical bid evaluation
    , vendor coordination, and cost optimization.
  • Exposure to
    Erection and Commissioning support
    for Electrical & Instrumentation systems.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and ensure engineering excellence.

Preferred Background:

  • Experience in
    EPC Companies
