About the role

We're looking for a dynamic National Marketing Lead to shape the marketing future of one of India's largest Animal & Aqua Feed businesses. This is a high-impact leadership role where the incumbent will set the vision, craft winning strategies, and build brands that farmers trust and markets remember. From ATL and BTL to cutting-edge digital campaigns, the incumbent will lead initiatives that not only grow market share but also transform how we connect with our customers. The incumbent should have the ambition to lead at scale and the passion to drive innovation in agri-marketing.

Key Responsibilities
:

Marketing Vision & Strategy:

  • Define and execute a future-ready marketing roadmap for Animal & Aqua Feed businesses, aligned with long-term growth objectives.
  • Ensure optimal allocation of marketing budgets to deliver maximum impact across ATL, BTL, and digital channels.

Market Intelligence & Customer Insight:

  • Lead in-depth market and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
  • Translate customer needs and behaviors into actionable strategies that guide product, portfolio, and brand decisions.

Brand Strengthening & Storytelling:

  • Build strong, differentiated brand positioning supported by consistent messaging and a unified customer experience.
  • Create impactful narratives that connect with diverse stakeholders — from smallholder farmers to large-scale aquaculture operators.

  • Integrated Marketing Excellence:

  • Oversee execution of high-impact campaigns across digital, traditional, and on-ground activation platforms.

  • Leverage analytics, automation, and innovative formats to optimise customer acquisition, engagement, and retention.

Portfolio Growth & Capability Building:

  • Drive product pipeline ideation with cross-functional teams to address market gaps and strengthen offerings.
  • Develop training programs for teams and partners to enhance technical knowledge and commercial effectiveness.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and empower a high-performing marketing team with a culture of innovation and accountability.
  • Build organisational marketing capabilities through talent acquisition, skill development, and performance management.

Collaboration for Business Growth:

  • Partner with sales and strategic teams to co-create demand generation, product launch, and trade marketing programs.
  • Establish strong feedback loops from field teams to continually refine marketing plans and customer engagement strategies.

Innovation & Sustainability Focus:

  • Explore new customer segments, engagement models, and marketing technologies to maintain market leadership.
  • Integrate sustainability and CSR initiatives into marketing to enhance brand trust and long-term relevance.

Who are we looking for?

Education
:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Agriculture Sciences, or a related field is preferred
  • A Master's degree or MBA in Marketing, Business, or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
  • Additional certifications or training in digital marketing, product management, or leadership development will be considered an asset.

Experience
:

  • Minimum 12-15 years of progressive experience in marketing, preferably within Animal feed, agriculture, FMCG, or related industries.

Skills
:

  • Proven track record of leading marketing teams and driving growth in rural markets across India
  • Strong background in strategic marketing, product management, brand building, and digital marketing.
  • Demonstrated experience in category expansion, portfolio management, and market share growth within competitive markets.
  • Experience working in cross-functional, matrixed organizations with senior leadership collaboration.
  • Exposure to market research, data analytics, and customer insights to inform marketing strategies.
  • Knowledge of emerging marketing technologies including AI-driven marketing, automation, and digital marketing trends.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead by example.
  • Willingness to travel extensively in markets to engage with stakeholders and oversee execution firsthand.
