We are developing a cutting-edge 3D visualization platform for oil & gas pipeline integrity management.

Position: Unity 3D Developer

Location: In Office

Budget: 20k -30k

Duration: 8 weeks (immediate start)

Required Technical SkillsUnity 3D Expertise (Must Have)

  • Unity Version: LTS experience (minimum 2+ years)
  • Rendering Pipeline: Universal Render Pipeline (URP) proficiency
  • 3D Modeling Integration: Working with CAD data, procedural mesh generation
  • Performance Optimization: LOD systems, mesh optimization, memory management
  • Scripting: Advanced C# for Unity (custom tools, editor scripts)

3D Visualization Skills

  • Procedural Generation: Creating pipeline geometry from coordinate data
  • Interactive 3D UI: Click-to-inspect, measurement tools, navigation systems
  • Camera Systems: Cinemachine for smooth navigation and transitions
  • Material Systems: PBR materials for realistic steel, soil, and coating visualization
  • Cross-Section Views: Dynamic cutaway systems for pipeline interior inspection

Data Integration Experience

  • REST API Integration: Consuming FastAPI endpoints for real-time data
  • JSON/XML Processing: Handling CAD coordinates and anomaly datasets
  • Database Connectivity: PostgreSQL integration through APIs
  • Real-time Updates: Live data streaming and visualization updates

Performance & Optimization

  • Large Dataset Handling: Efficiently rendering 120+ interactive objects
  • Memory Management: Garbage collection optimization for smooth performance
  • Platform Deployment: Windows deployment, AWS cloud environment compatibility
  • Profiling Tools: Unity Profiler experience for performance analysis

Preferred QualificationsIndustry Experience (Highly Valued)

  • Oil & Gas Visualization: Pipeline, facility, or infrastructure 3D modeling
  • Engineering Visualization: CAD data integration, technical drawing interpretation
  • GIS/Mapping: Coordinate systems, spatial data visualization
  • Industrial Applications: Manufacturing, construction, or engineering sector projects

Advanced Technical Skills

  • Shader Development: Custom HLSL shaders for specialized visualization effects
  • Editor Tools: Custom Unity editor extensions and workflows
  • Version Control: Git workflows for collaborative development
  • Cloud Development: AWS EC2, remote development experience
  • Asset Pipeline: Efficient 3D asset workflows, texture optimization

3D Art & Design Skills (Bonus)

  • Blender/3ds Max: Asset creation and optimization
  • Substance Painter: PBR texturing for realistic materials
  • Technical Art: Understanding of rendering pipelines and optimization
