SAP HCM Technical Specialist

₹11,50,000 - ₹20,00,000 a year We are looking for a seasoned SAP HCM Technical Specialist (ABAP) to strengthen our HR technology landscape by delivering robust, scalable, and high-performance SAP HCM solutions. This role focuses on hands-on ABAP development across core HR processes, payroll, and integrations, working closely with functional teams to convert complex business requirements into reliable technical deliverables. The ideal candidate combines deep SAP HCM technical expertise with strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities SAP HCM Development & Customization Design, build, and enhance ABAP-based solutions supporting SAP HCM modules including Personnel Administration, Organizational Management, Time Management, and Payroll. Develop custom reports, enhancements, interfaces, workflows, and forms to support end-to-end HR operations. Work extensively with HR infotypes, payroll schemas, and PCRs to support country-specific and global HR requirements. Reporting, Forms & Interfaces Create and optimize HR and payroll reports using ALV, SmartForms, Adobe Forms, and SAP Scripts. Design and support integrations between SAP HCM and external systems using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, flat files, and web services. Support data uploads, migrations, and mass changes using LSMW and custom ABAP utilities. System Optimization & Support Perform debugging, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning of existing HCM programs. Support system enhancements, patches, upgrades, and production issues with a focus on stability and minimal downtime. Participate in technical reviews to ensure code quality, reusability, and compliance with SAP standards. Collaboration & Documentation Partner with functional consultants and business stakeholders to clarify requirements and propose optimal technical solutions. Prepare and maintain technical design documents, test scenarios, deployment notes, and operational documentation. Contribute to knowledge sharing and best-practice adoption within the SAP technical team.
Required Experience & Expertise 4–11 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development with a strong emphasis on SAP HCM. Solid working knowledge of SAP HCM submodules such as PA, OM, Time Management, and Payroll. Strong expertise in Classical ABAP and Object-Oriented ABAP (OOABAP). Proven experience working with HR master data, infotypes, payroll schemas, and PCRs. Hands-on experience with enhancements including User Exits, BAdIs, and the SAP Enhancement Framework. Strong integration experience using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and custom interfaces. Experience with SAP ECC environments; exposure to S/4HANA HCM or SuccessFactors integrations is a plus. Understanding of HR authorizations and security concepts is desirable.
