Unreal Engineer

About the Role: As an Unreal Engine Developer, you will join a high-performing 3D team focused on creating next-generation immersive experiences. You will architect, build, and optimize interactive environments using Unreal Engine, develop advanced gameplay and cinematic systems through Blueprints and C++, and work collaboratively with artists, designers, and production leads. Your expertise will drive the creation of premium real-time content spanning games, virtual production, simulations, and interactive mediaelevating visual fidelity, performance, and real-time storytelling to industry-leading standards.

Role & Responsibilities:

Unreal Engine Development

• Develop real-time 3D environments, tools, and interactive features using Unreal Engine 5 (Blueprints & C++).
• Build and optimize levels using Lumen, Nanite, World Partition, and modern UE5 workflows.
• Implement gameplay or simulation logic, cinematic sequences, VFX, and UI/UX elements.
• Integrate real-time assets including models, animations, lighting setups, and audio.
• Develop and optimize shaders, materials, and custom rendering pipelines for visual fidelity and performance.
• Implement real-time ray tracing and path-tracing systems for premium visual quality.
• Optimize Nanite/Lumen rendering pipelines for real-time ray tracing and dynamic global illumination.
• Use MetaHuman and implement complex facial expressions and lip-sync systems.
• Deploy and optimize Pixel Streaming for cloud-based rendering and distributed applications.
• Implement Chaos Physics systems for destruction, rigid-body dynamics, and complex simulations.

Asset Integration & Pipeline Collaboration

• Integrate assets from DCC tools (Maya, Blender, Houdini, ZBrush, Substance).
• Collaborate with 3D artists, animators, and technical artists to maintain smooth pipelines.
• Build reusable systems, tools, and frameworks to support production needs.

Performance Optimization

• Profile and optimize scenes for FPS, lighting, shaders, LODs, and streaming efficiency.
• Resolve rendering issues, memory bottlenecks, and shader-complexity problems.
• Ensure stability and performance across target platforms (PC, VR, AR, and mobile).
• Optimize GPU memory usage and graphics API performance (DirectX 12, RHI optimization).

Testing, Documentation & Deployment

• Test features, fix bugs, and maintain project stability.
• Manage builds, source control (Git/Perforce), and integration pipelines.
• Write clear documentation for tools, systems, and production workflows.
• Implement and maintain automated testing, build validation, and CI/CD deployment pipelines.

Virtual Production & Cinematics (Good to Have)

• Set up virtual cameras, tracking systems, live compositing, and LED wall workflows.
• Collaborate with directors, DOPs, and production teams to prepare real-time scenes.
• Work with nDisplay, LiveLink, DMX, or stage control systems.
• Create tools to assist in pre-visualization, techvis, and motion capture integration.

What We're Looking For:

• 3+ years of experience in Unreal Engine 4/5 (UE5 preferred) with strong skills in Blueprints, C++, real-time rendering, lighting, shaders, and materials.
• Experience with Sequencer, CineCamera, Control Rig, animation workflows, and virtual production tools such as nDisplay, LiveLink, mocap, and LED wall/green-screen setups.
• Familiarity with Niagara VFX systems and GPU particle simulation.
• Hands-on experience with Houdini Engine for procedural content generation, destruction simulation, and landscape automation.
• Proficient in asset optimization, PBR workflows, real-time performance tuning, and familiar with VR/AR development, OpenXR, Houdini, and MetaHuman/real-time character systems.
• Background in game development, simulations, training content, or digital production/cinematics is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced, creative production environments.
