Job Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Sales Officer to join our jewellery retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, driving sales, maintaining visual merchandising standards, and ensuring smooth daily store operations while handling high-value jewellery items with utmost care and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and engage customers in a warm, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable jewellery based on occasion, budget, and preferences.
  • Explain product details including purity, karat value, weight, pricing, certifications, and hallmarking.
  • Prepare accurate jewellery estimations with proper bifurcation.
  • Achieve individual and store sales targets through effective selling and upselling techniques.
  • Maintain high standards of visual merchandising, display counters, and store cleanliness.
  • Handle customer queries, concerns, and complaints efficiently; escalate unresolved issues to the Store Manager.
  • Assist in stock handling including receiving, tagging, arranging, and displaying jewellery.
  • Stay updated on jewellery trends, new collections, pricing, and promotions.
  • Follow all security protocols while handling high-value products.
  • Support billing, packaging, documentation, and POS operations.
  • Participate in regular training programs and team meetings.
  • Generate sales challans through the Tab App as per company SOP.

Authorities & Decision-Making

  • Recommend products and offer personalized suggestions to customers.
  • Provide discounts or special offers within management-approved limits.
  • Initiate CRM activities including customer follow-ups and feedback collection.
  • Coordinate with inventory/back-office teams for product availability and order fulfillment.
  • Suggest merchandising ideas and customer engagement initiatives to the Store Manager.

Daily Responsibilities Checklist

  • Report on time in proper uniform and grooming.
  • Open the store following security protocols.
  • Ensure showcases, displays, floors, mirrors, and counters are clean and organized.
  • Verify and count stock with designated personnel.
  • Power on lighting, POS systems, and store equipment.
  • Greet customers promptly and assist them throughout the buying process.
  • Explain product features, certifications, and current gold rates.
  • Upsell and cross-sell where appropriate.
  • Process sales through the POS system and record daily sales.
  • Collect customer details for CRM and loyalty programs.
  • Track sold items and update stock records.
  • Report low stock, fast-moving items, and customer feedback.
  • Secure high-value items and cash at end of day.
  • Shut down systems and ensure the store is secured as per SOP.

Weekly Responsibilities

  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  • Review weekly sales performance and targets.
  • Assist with weekly stock audits.
  • Refresh window displays and promotional areas.
  • Share customer trends and preferences with management.

Monthly Responsibilities

  • Participate in full inventory audits.
  • Contribute to performance evaluations and KPI reviews.
  • Identify slow-moving stock and suggest promotional strategies.
  • Refresh product knowledge, policies, and compliance standards.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in jewellery or luxury retail sales preferred.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer-handling skills.
  • Sales-oriented mindset with attention to detail.
  • Basic computer and POS system knowledge.
  • Ability to follow SOPs and security guidelines.
  • Willingness to work weekends and during peak retail hours.
