Role & responsibilities

  • Manage GL status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting information.
  • Monthly Balance Sheet substantiation, co-ordination with all functions responsible for GL ownership. Particular emphasis on Other Assets (OA)/Other Liabilities (OL), Fixed Assets (FA) & Capital Work in Progress (CWIP).
  • Ensure that GLs are appropriately maintained and used for relevant transactions, review of data quality on regular basis.
  • Define process for monitoring usage of GL and mechanism to address exceptions.
  • Appropriate authorization of GL creations and periodic review of GL structure
  • Meet accounting financial objectives by analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
  • Ensure that Internal Financial Control (IFC) is well implemented and tested.
  • Regular update of Risk Control Metrics (RCMs) through change management and periodic testing.
  • Prepare/maintain/upgrade the Standard Operating Processes (SOP) and policies applicable to Substantiation.
  • Preparation of board notes and monitor system implementation.
  • Monitor & guide the team on Accounts Payable & Recoverable

Preferred candidate profile

  • 10-15 years experience in Accounts. Exposure in banking industry in a must.
  • Knowledge of direct and indirect taxes, accounting standards/principles, Indian GAAP, Ind-AS.
