We are seeking a dynamic, accomplished, and globally-minded
Chief Investment Officer (CIO)
to lead our mission. This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned professional with a deep-tech and defence sector background to apply their expertise at scale and contribute to a mission of national and international significance.

Core Responsibilities:

• Investment Strategy & Execution:
• Lead the entire investment process, from sourcing and rigorous due diligence to presenting to the Investment Committee (IC) and final deal execution.
• Continuously evolve and refine the firm's investment thesis and strategy to maintain market leadership and capture emerging opportunities in Aerospace & Defence, Space, Advanced Communications, and Deep-Tech.
• Establish and enforce a robust risk management framework, ensuring all investment decisions align with our fund's mandate and fiduciary responsibilities.
• Global Investor & Partner Relations:
• Act as a key representative of IBV, serving as the primary point of contact for our global Limited Partners (LPs) and corporate partners.
• Drive all fund-raising activities, presenting our performance, strategic vision, and unique value proposition to both existing and prospective investors.
• Cultivate and expand our network of strategic corporate partners, forging relationships that create synergistic opportunities for our portfolio companies and LPs.
• Portfolio Management & Value Creation:
• Provide strategic, hands-on support to portfolio companies, working directly with founders to accelerate their growth and scale.
• Guide companies towards successful commercial outcomes, including strategic partnerships, international market entry, and profitable exits.
• Identify and structure co-development and co-investment opportunities for our strategic partners.
• Leadership & Team Building:
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing investment team, fostering a culture of intellectual curiosity, rigorous analysis, and a founder-first approach.
• Serve as a prominent thought leader, representing IBV at key industry events, conferences, and on expert panels.
• Collaborate with the founding team and other senior leaders to set the strategic direction for the firm.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, or a relevant investment role, with a demonstrated track record of successful investments and profitable exits in the deep tech and/or defence sectors.
• Deep domain expertise and a strong understanding of the technology landscape in aerospace, defence, dual-use, and adjacent strategic sectors.
• Exceptional leadership, team management, and mentoring skills.
• A robust global network within the venture capital, deep tech, and defence ecosystems.
• Outstanding communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• An MBA or advanced degree in a technical or business-related field is highly preferred.
