The Manager Commercial will lead the procurement and development of all packaging materials for liquor manufacturing, including Labels, ROPP Caps, Guala Caps, New & Old Glass Bottles, PET Bottles, Corrugated Cartons & Mono (Board) Cartons, laminates etc

The role is responsible for managing vendor relationships, optimizing cost and quality, ensuring timely availability of materials, and driving innovation in packaging development in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Strategy & Operations

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for packaging materials.
  • Ensure timely procurement of packaging items like glass bottles, caps, labels, cartons, etc.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure cost competitiveness and quality.
  • Monitor market trends, raw material prices, and supply chain risks.

2. Vendor Development & Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new packaging vendors to diversify risk and improve service levels.
  • Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
  • Foster long-term relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability and innovation.

3. Packaging Development & Innovation

  • Collaborate with the R&D, Marketing, and Production teams to develop new and innovative packaging solutions.
  • Lead trials for new packaging materials and designs on production lines.
  • Ensure packaging meets regulatory standards, brand guidelines, and environmental sustainability goals.

4. Cost Optimization & Budgeting

  • Drive cost savings through strategic sourcing, alternate materials, or process improvements.
  • Manage packaging procurement budgets, forecasts, and reporting.
  • Analyze cost drivers and implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality.

5. Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all packaging materials adhere to company and regulatory quality standards (e.g., FSSAI, BIS, Excise).
  • Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to address any packaging-related issues.
  • Maintain documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
