Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily site inspections to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
  • Implement safety measures as per client and company safety policies.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory safety regulations (e.g., Factory Act, OSHA standards).
  • Conduct toolbox talks, safety training, and awareness programs regularly.
  • Prepare and maintain safety inspection reports, risk assessments, and incident reports.
  • Monitor the use of PPE and ensure proper safety gear is being worn.
  • Investigate accidents/incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Maintain emergency response protocols and conduct mock drills at the site.
  • Coordinate with the project team to ensure all fabrication and installation activities are conducted safely.
  • Liaise with local authorities and safety auditors as required.
  • Maintain safety signage and barricading around work zones.
  • Ensure safe handling and use of machinery, tools, and materials, particularly in mechanical erection and fabrication work like cutting, welding, grinding, and lifting activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any relevant technical discipline.
  • Certification in Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) is preferred.
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in site safety, specifically in the mechanical/fabrication field.
  • Sound knowledge of safety procedures related to mechanical works, hot works, confined spaces, and lifting operations.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
