Director of Software Engineering — Storage

Role & Responsibilities

  • 20+ years of experience in engineering strategy and roadmap for distributed storage products—drive architecture, scalability, and performance initiatives across block and object storage systems.
  • Lead, hire, and mentor multiple engineering teams (design, platform, QA, SRE) to deliver production-grade software on aggressive timelines.
  • Define technical direction for storage protocols and transports (NVMe-oF, iSCSI, RDMA) and champion low-latency/high-throughput designs.
  • Collaborate with Product, QA, and Customer Success to prioritize features, manage releases, and ensure customer-focused SLAs and reliability targets.
  • Establish engineering excellence: CI/CD, automated testing, observability, performance benchmarking, and incident response playbooks.
  • Represent engineering in cross-functional leadership forums, recruit top talent, and scale processes to support rapid product growth.

Proven leadership of large engineering organizations building storage or infrastructure software; strong track record delivering low-latency, high-availability systems at scale. Willingness to work on-site in India and engage directly with engineering, product, and customers.
