Role: Commodity Risk Manager

Location: Mumbai - BKC

Reports To: Head Risk Management / Compliance

Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Commodity Risk Manager to join our Terminal Risk team. The role involves real-time monitoring and mitigation of risk across retail and institutional clients, managing dealer/client limits, terminal controls, CTCL operations, exchange compliance, and managing risks during high-volatility events like tender periods.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Functional Duties:

  • Set up and manage trading limits at the dealer and client level
  • Frame and implement trading rules as per client/dealer requirements
  • Monitor client positions and overall exposure, especially during peak risk periods
  • Manage blocking/unblocking of banned scrips and symbols under tender period
  • CTCL creation/modification and user uploads for Exchanges
  • Handle delivery marking processes for MCX and NCDEX
  • Monitor MCS and MTS terminals, including Corporate / Direct / Admin terminals
  • Coordinate trade modifications and code changes on MCX and NCDEX
  • Ensure risk control actions like squaring off positions during system outages

Compliance & Exchange Interaction:

  • Ensure adherence to SEBI, Exchange, and Internal risk management policies
  • Keep updated with exchange circulars and incorporate required changes
  • Coordinate with exchanges, auditors, and internal stakeholders for queries or audits
  • Manage margin reporting: SPAN, Exposure, Additional and Peak Margins
  • Oversee warehousing rules, margining system, and reporting requirements

Strategic & Analytical Contributions:

  • Review and update internal risk management policies
  • Frame risk appetite limits in alignment with regulatory norms
  • Conduct risk analysis and MIS reporting for senior management
  • Identify and implement process automation and system enhancements

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Graduate/Postgraduate in Finance, Commerce, or related discipline
  • Preferred: MBA (Finance), CFA, CA

Experience:

  • Minimum 3- 7 years of experience in Commodity Risk Management
  • Must have worked with prominent brokers with high HNI/volume exposure
  • Hands-on experience with trading platforms like Omnesys, ODIN, Greek, Kambala

Technical & Domain Expertise:

  • Sound knowledge of CTCL, trading limits, and tender period handling
  • Familiarity with margining systems, order controls, exchange penalty rules
  • Awareness of warehousing rules and commodity delivery mechanisms

  • High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
