Consultant – Projects and Grants

ICRISAT seeks applications from highly motivated and qualified professionals for the position of

Consultant – Projects and Grants to assist the Manager of Projects and Grants in Project Accounting

and Project Management. Knowledge of accounting in-depth knowledge of accounting standards

and reporting requirements including IFRS. Good interpersonal and communication skills.

degradation in the dryland tropics. ICRISAT conducts research on its mandated crops of chickpea,

pigeonpea, groundnut, sorghum, pearl millet and finger millet in the arid and semi-arid tropics. The

Institute focuses its work on drylands and on protecting the environment. Tropical dryland areas are

usually seen as resource-poor and perennially beset by shocks such as drought, thereby trapping

Responsibilities:

Conceptual and Applied

  • Assist in Project Management and Project Accounting in lines with grant agreements

  • Preparation of MIS reports on Projects

  • Assist in Management of receivables and payables

  • A thorough review of financial terms and conditions and budgets of grants agreements

  • A thorough review of sub-grants agreements

Internal and External

  • Liaison with Donor, Internal and Statutory Auditors

  • Interdepartmental liaison

  • To maintain good rapport with location staff and have updated information on the

status of the projects

Timeliness and Quality

  • Stick to donor reporting timeline

  • Provide accurate and timely information to the Manager for decision-making purposes

Experience

  • Master's degree in finance or Related/ CA Intern

  • At least 1 - 5years of experience in Finance in preparation, analysis and reconciliation of

financial statements, MIS, financial forecasts and Assets Management. Expertise in

handling accounting functions.
