Standardized Title: Resident Medical Officer (Night Duty) - Obstetrics & Gynecology

About the Opportunity
A busy women's health and maternal-care hospital operating in the Obstetrics & Gynecology sector, delivering 24/7 emergency maternity services, labour-room management and inpatient gynaecology care in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. We provide continuous night-cover clinical support for high-acuity maternal and newborn cases, surgical theatre assistance, and bedside stabilization to ensure safe outcomes for mothers and babies.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Provide night-shift clinical cover for obstetric and gynaecologic emergencies—triage, stabilise and manage admissions until consultant review.
  • Lead initial emergency obstetric interventions including active management of postpartum haemorrhage and resuscitation of neonates.
  • Assist on emergency deliveries and operative procedures (Caesarean sections) and coordinate with anaesthesia and theatre teams.
  • Order and interpret basic laboratory and radiology reports, escalate critical findings to on-call consultants promptly.
  • Maintain accurate medical records, complete shift handovers and follow hospital escalation and referral protocols.
  • Supervise nursing staff for bedside care, monitor vitals and medications, and ensure infection-control and patient-safety standards during the shift.

  • Point-of-care Obstetric Ultrasound for triage
  • Experience with labour-room monitoring & partograph use
  • Previous RMO or night-duty experience in an OBGYN setting

Minimum Qualifications

  • MBBS degree with valid State Medical Council registration.
  • Willingness to work overnight shifts and remain on-site for the full night roster in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
