Job Title: Food Safety Team Leader (FSTL)

Department: Quality Assurance / Food Safety

Reports To: Plant Head

Job Description – Food Safety Team Leader (FSSC 22000 V6)

The Food Safety Team Leader is responsible for leading and maintaining the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) as per FSSC 22000 V6 standards, ensuring product safety, regulatory compliance, and continual improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. FSMS Development & Implementation

Lead the development and execution of the FSMS as per FSSC Ensure system compliance with ISO 22000, ISO/TS , and other applicable standards.

  1. Hazard Analysis and Risk Management

Conduct food safety hazard assessments (biological, chemical, physical, allergenic). Establish and maintain CCPs, OPRPs, and PRPs.

  1. Documentation & Record Control

Maintain FSMS documentation including policies, procedures, and records. Ensure document control and version tracking.

  1. Internal Audits

Plan and execute internal audits. Manage findings, corrective actions, and verification activities.

  1. Training & Awareness

Develop and deliver food safety training programs. Promote a strong food safety culture within the organization.

  1. External Communication & Liaison

Serve as the contact point for certification bodies and regulatory authorities. Handle customer audits and food safety inquiries.

  1. Management Review

Lead annual management reviews and present food safety performance data. Recommend system updates and improvements.

  1. Emergency Preparedness & Product Recall

Develop and test recall and traceability procedures. Lead crisis management and mock recall drills.

  1. Continuous Improvement

Monitor FSMS KPIs and drive continual improvement initiatives. Update processes based on audits, complaints, and regulatory changes.

  1. Compliance & Legal Requirements

Ensure adherence to local, national, and international food safety regulations and customer requirements.Role & responsibilities
