Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the production floor to ensure manufacturing goals and production schedules are met efficiently, safely, and with high-quality standards. This role involves supervising production staff, maintaining equipment, implementing processes, and ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Production Operations:
- Lead and manage the production team to ensure products are manufactured on time, within quality standards, and at the required production rate.
- Monitor production schedules, adjust workflows, and allocate resources to meet deadlines.
- Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality and minimizing waste.
- Team Management:
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to production staff, including training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive, motivated work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Ensure that all workers are compliant with company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Quality Control & Standards Compliance:
- Ensure that all production activities align with quality standards and specifications.
- Inspect products for defects or irregularities and address issues promptly to minimize production disruptions.
- Enforce adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify inefficiencies in production processes and implement strategies for improvement (e.g., lean manufacturing, process optimization).
- Collaborate with the engineering and quality control teams to solve technical issues and improve manufacturing processes.
- Monitor production performance and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as output, quality, and downtime.
- Inventory & Equipment Management:
- Oversee the management of raw materials, inventory, and production supplies to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensure the maintenance and repair of production equipment and machinery are carried out in a timely manner.
- Work with maintenance teams to address any equipment breakdowns or issues that affect production timelines.
- Health & Safety:
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including conducting safety inspections, meetings, and safety drills.
- Promote a culture of safety by leading by example and ensuring proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment) on the production floor.
- Report and address any safety incidents or hazards immediately.
- Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate production records, including daily production logs, quality control checks, and inventory usage.
- Prepare and present production reports to management, highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Familiarity with production processes, machinery, and quality control.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and root cause analysis is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency with production scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and/or move throughout the production facility for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to [weight limit] pounds and perform tasks that require bending, twisting, or stooping.
- Capable of operating production machinery and performing manual tasks as required.
Work Environment:
- The production supervisor will work in a manufacturing plant or warehouse environment, which may involve exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, ear protection, and gloves will be required
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹15, ₹25,000.00 per month
