About the Role We're seeking a talented and motivated Junior Backend Developer to join our development team. As a Junior Backend Developer, you will work under the guidance of senior developers and be responsible for developing and maintaining the backend components of our software applications.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and test backend functionality for our software applications.
  • Write clean and efficient code in languages such as Python.
  • Work closely with senior developers to understand project requirements and offer contributions and suggestions for improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and debug any backend issues that may arise during the development process.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and participate in code review sessions to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in backend development, preferably in a professional or commercial setting.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Proficiency in at least one backend programming language, such as Python.
  • Experience with backend frameworks and libraries, such as Django or FastAPI.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Understanding of relational databases and SQL. Hands-on experience with either PostgreSQL or MySQL is a must have.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to haves
  • Experience with ORM frameworks such as SQLAlchemy is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with any major cloud provider like GCP or AWS is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of front-end development technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript would be a plus.
