Position: FMCG Foods-New Product Development & Quality Assurance (Private Label Business)

Function: Quality Private Label

Location: Bangalore

We are looking for an Assistant Manager – FMCG Foods to drive New Product Development (NPD) and Quality Assurance for our Private Label business. This role will be the key interface between suppliers, internal stakeholders, and customers to ensure development of high-quality, innovative, and compliant food products that meet business objectives and consumer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

New Product Development (NPD):

  • Lead development and launch of new FMCG food products for the Private Label portfolio.
  • Conduct benchmarking, product trials, and validations against market leaders.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and R&D partners for product formulation, sensory evaluation, and process optimization.
  • Drive innovation by identifying new ingredients, formats, and packaging solutions.

Quality Assurance & Compliance:

  • Ensure product safety, quality, and compliance with FSSAI, Legal Metrology, FDA, BIS, and other applicable standards.
  • Develop product specifications and quality parameters for suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier audits, factory trials, and pre-commercialization validations.
  • Set up and monitor shelf-life studies, sensory checks, and consumer validations.
  • Work closely with Regulatory, Packaging, Marketing, and Brand teams for artwork, labeling, and claims compliance.

Business & Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as an FMCG Food Subject Matter Expert within the Private Label team.
  • Collaborate with Category, Sourcing, Marketing, and Operations teams for smooth product launches.
  • Provide technical expertise during vendor development and product onboarding.
  • Support quality issue resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's / Master's in Food Technology, Food Science, Dairy Technology, or related discipline.
  • 5–8 years of experience in FMCG Food NPD, Quality Assurance, or R&D (Private Label experience preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of food product development, quality systems, regulatory requirements, and sensory evaluation.
  • Proven track record of launching successful FMCG food products in staples, packaged foods, or beverages.
  • Strong project management, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to balance innovation and compliance.
