What you'll be doing
Lead the architecture and development of high-traffic cybersecurity services operating at global scale (hundreds of millions of requests daily), driving the migration from monolithic systems and AWS Lambdas to a microservices-based Kubernetes architectureDesign and implement highly-available, zero-downtime distributed systems within a complex event-driven architecture, ensuring technical decisions align with long-term business objectives while combating fraudCollaborate with cross-functional teams (SWE, SRE, QE) and stakeholders to deliver robust technical solutions, owning services from specifications through release and maintenanceBuild full-stack software spanning from browser interfaces to analytics data pipelines, directly supporting our data science and blue watch teams while driving measurable cost optimization initiativesEstablish engineering best practices, testing frameworks, and quality assurance processes that systematically prevent defects across the team, while facilitating technical discussions and building consensus across multiple engineering teamsMentor engineers at all levels (P1-P3), lead hiring initiatives to strengthen team capabilities, and develop training programs that foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharingDefine technical roadmaps, contribute to quarterly and annual planning processes, and represent engineering perspectives in strategic business decisions that impact multiple teams across the organizationWhat we want from you
Need to have
7+ years experience in commercial software development, with expert-level proficiency in NodeJS and Golang3+ years experience with solutions on AWS3+ years working with both NoSQL and relational databases at scale, including performance optimization and data modeling - specific tech not important but concepts2+ years of technical leadership experience, including mentoring engineers and driving engineering best practices across teams2+ years experience with concurrent/asynchronous programming and distributed systems, particularly microservices architectures1.5+ years experience with modern web frameworks (React preferred)Focus on creating software using open source languages, libraries, and tools, running on linux-based operating systemsStrong knowledge of web/HTTP concepts and methodologies - DNS, TLS, browser caching, CDNs (e.g. Cloudflare/CloudFront)Experience with agile development (Scrum/Kanban)Proven track record of technical leadership, mentoring, and driving engineering best practices across teamExperience leading architectural decisions and complex technical initiatives from conception to deliveryStrong communication skills with ability to influence technical direction and build consensus across multiple teamsNice to have
