The Sr. Director of AI will lead the design, development, and deployment of AI-driven capabilities across 's product suite. This is a critical leadership role that will shape the future of our platform by driving innovation in natural language processing (NLP), generative AI, machine learning, data enrichment, and intelligent decision support.

This role requires a strong mix of strategic vision, technical expertise, product thinking, and leadership experience. The ideal candidate will be passionate about using AI to solve real-world business problems and will thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the AI strategy and roadmap for , in alignment with product and company goals.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to design, prototype, and implement AI/ML models that enhance supplier discovery, classification, risk scoring, spend profiling, auto-registration and user interaction.
  • Identify opportunities to embed AI across the product experience—e.g., smart search, automated recommendations, supplier matching, generative reporting, and more.
  • Build and manage a growing team of data scientists, AI/ML engineers, prompt engineers and researchers in India.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to ensure AI initiatives are scalable, secure, and aligned with customer needs.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in generative AI, LLMs, NLP, and responsible AI and bring innovative solutions to life.
  • Lead the evaluation and integration of third-party models, platforms, and datasets when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to prioritize investments and communicate the business impact of AI innovation.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, or data science, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success building and deploying AI/ML models in production environments, preferably within a SaaS and data focused organization.
  • Deep knowledge of natural language processing, LLMs (e.g., GPT, Claude, LLaMa, etc.), supervised/unsupervised learning, and recommender systems.
  • Experience working with large scale structured and unstructured data.
  • Experience with vectorization and embeddings.
  • Ability to bridge business needs with technical capabilities and strong product thinking is a must.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working with global, remote first teams.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related field. Ph.D. is a plus.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in supply chain, procurement, or enterprise data products.
  • Experience with AI practices, model monitoring, and data governance.
  • Hands-on experience building solutions with Python and open-source machine learning libraries
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and MLOps pipelines.
