Job Summary

The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for managing and optimizing the movement, storage, and distribution of goods across the supply chain network. The role involves coordinating with suppliers, transporters, warehouses, and internal sales teams to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products while maintaining high service levels.

Key Responsibilities

1. Transportation & Distribution:

  • Coordinate daily dispatches from factories and warehouses to distributors, and modern trade partners.

2. Warehouse Coordination:

  • Liaise with warehouse teams for inventory management, stock allocation, and order fulfillment.
  • Ensure proper documentation for goods receipt, dispatch, and stock transfers.
  • Support warehouse audits and stock reconciliations.

3. Vendor & Transporter Management:

  • Negotiate freight rates and service terms with logistics partners.
  • Evaluate transporter performance based on KPIs such as on-time delivery, damages, and cost efficiency.
  • Maintain strong relationships with third-party logistics (3PL) providers.

4. Documentation & Compliance:

  • Prepare and verify logistics documents such as invoices, e-way bills, delivery challans, and transport permits.
  • Ensure compliance with GST, FSSAI, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records for audits and reporting.

5. Cost & Performance Monitoring:

  • Track logistics costs and contribute to cost optimization initiatives.
  • Generate periodic MIS reports on freight, inventory movement, and distribution efficiency.

6. Cross-Functional Coordination:

  • Collaborate with production, procurement, sales, and finance teams to align logistics operations with business goals.
  • Support new product launches or seasonal demand peaks with proactive logistics planning.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education:
    Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Commerce, or related field. MBA/PGDM preferred.
  • Experience:
    2–5 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in FMCG or consumer goods sector.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of transportation management and warehouse operations.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong coordination and communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.

  • On-time delivery rate
  • Transportation cost per unit/ton
  • Inventory accuracy and stock availability
  • Damage and loss percentage
  • Customer service and fill rate
