We are looking for an L1 Desktop Support Engineer to provide first-level technical assistance and support to end users. The role focuses on troubleshooting hardware, software, and basic network issues, ensuring smooth IT operations within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and IT peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows 10/11, MS Office, and standard applications.
  • Handle user account management tasks such as password resets and access issues via Active Directory / O365.
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting (LAN, IP configuration, Wi-Fi issues).
  • Log incidents, service requests, and updates in ticketing tools (ServiceNow / Jira / Remedy).
  • Install and configure software, drivers, and updates.
  • Maintain IT inventory and ensure proper documentation of hardware and activities.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to L2/L3 teams when required.
  • Provide on-site support for end users in case of hardware faults or urgent issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 0–3 years of experience in desktop support / technical support.

  • Good understanding of:

  • Windows OS (Win10/11)

  • MS Office & standard applications
  • Basic networking concepts

  • Hardware troubleshooting

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Ability to work in shifts if required.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident/Request Management).
  • Knowledge of antivirus, VPN, and remote support tools.
  • Certifications like A+, ITIL, MCSA, or basic CCNA.
